Nearly Half of All Bulgarians Tolerate Gray Economy - Poll
Almost half of all Bulgarian employers and employees consciously violate the country's labor law, a poll about Bulgarians' attitude towards the gray economy reveals.
The poll conducted by the Bulgaria Industrial Capital Association shows that about 45% of employers and 50% of workers are fine with being involved in the gray economy as long as it brings some income.

US Company Buys Israeli Tracking Devices Producer with Bulgarian Plant
US company 3M Co has announced it is purchasing the Israeli human tracking devices producer Attenti Holding SA, which has industrial facilities in Bulgaria’s Plovdiv.
3M Co will be paying USD 230 M for the Isreali producer. Attenti Holding SA produces systems such as ankle bracelets for monitoring and tracking the movements of people who are awaiting trial or are on probation and those of patients in senior care centers.

Bulgarian Capital Braces for Nightmarish Fall Traffic
The Mayor of Bulgaria's capital Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, warned Tuesday of upcoming serious traffic problems over the subway construction, sewage works and repairs of main thoroughfares.

Bulgaria’s Dabune trade has collapsed as Bulgarian River Shipping Jsc has seen a 49% drop of its revenues in the first half of 2010.

Bulgarian Power Utilities' Audits on Their Way to Prosecutor
The audits of the three Bulgarian power utilities have already been sent to the Prosecutor's Office, the Head of the State Commission for Energy and Water regulation (DKEVR), Angel Semerdzhiev, announced Tuesday.

Tuesday the Bulgarian government signed the contract for the construction of the last section of Trakiya highway set to connect capital Sofia to Black Sea city of Burgas.
So-called Lot 4, between the towns of Yambol and Karnobat in southeastern Bulgaria, has a deadline of 28 months for construction, which will kick off September 3.
Lots 2 and 3, joining Stara Zagora and Yambol, are under construction, while Lot 5 between Karnobat and Burgas is ready.
