Bulgarian Economy Minister Backs Eco Tourism against Mafia
Bulgaria's system of mountain huts and cabins should remain intact to preserve environmentally friendly tourism, said Bulgarian Minister of Economy Traicho Traikov Sunday.
"No mountain hut should be closed or replaced by apartments or hotels," stated Traikov, who is also the minister in charge of tourism in Bulgaria.

Bulgarian PM: Construction of Hemus Highway to Start 2014
The Bulgarian government will do everything possible to start construction of the Hemus Highway by 2014, said PM Boyko Borisov.
Borisov was speaking during a visit to Port Varna-West on the Bulgarian northern Black Sea coast, accompanied by Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov, reported BGNES.
He reiterated promises that the Trakiya Highway, connecting Sofia with Burgas on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast, will be completed by mid-2012.

Bulgarians mark the 115th anniversary of organized hiking and tourism in Bulgaria Sunday at the Cherni Vrah summit in the Vitosha mountain nearby capital Sofia.
The first hiking and tourist society in Bulgaria was founded on August 27, 1895 by Bulgarian writer and nature-lover Aleko Konstantinov on the top of Cherni Vrah (2290 m).
