Construction of Bulgaria'n Highway Final Section to Kick Off
Tuesday the Bulgarian government signed the contract for the construction of the last section of Trakiya highway set to connect capital Sofia to Black Sea city of Burgas.
So-called Lot 4, between the towns of Yambol and Karnobat in southeastern Bulgaria, has a deadline of 28 months for construction, which will kick off September 3.
Lots 2 and 3, joining Stara Zagora and Yambol, are under construction, while Lot 5 between Karnobat and Burgas is ready.

Moody's Affirms Bulgaria's Credit Rating with Positive Perspective
Moody's Investors Service has affirmed Bulgaria’s Baa3 credit rating with a positive perspective, announced the Finance Ministry.
In its assessment of Bulgaria’s current condition, Moody's has defined the country’s state finances as average for the EU.
In January 2010, the credit rating agency changed Bulgaria’s perspective from stable to positive reflecting the sustainability of the country’s finances with respect to the effects of the global financial crisis.

Bulgarians Increased Trips Abroad in Q2
The total number of trips Bulgarian citizens have made within the country and abroad dropped by 11% for the second quarter of 2010, according to preliminary data from Bulgaria's National Statistics Institute.
However, Bulgarians made about 23% more trips abroad in the second quarter this year, in comparison to the period April-June 2009, while the trips within the country dropped by 17%.

French GDF Suez Set to Enter Bulgarian Energy Market
The Romanian affiliate of the French electricity generation and distribution company Gas de France Suez (GDF Suez) has submitted an application for a license in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria's Key Chimimport Group Marks Marginal Up in Profits
The Bulgarian Chimimport Holding group has registered a 3% growth in net profits for the first half of 2010 notwithstanding greatly decreased revenue for the period.
Chimimport has registered a 20% drop in income due to shrinking in its non-financial activities, especially in transportation, which has shrunk 14%.
