Borovets starts new winter season on December 20
Winter season 2009/2010 will start on December 20 in the mountain resort of Borovets.
Organizers of the event promise a snow fest and numerous surprises for all visitors. Ski and snowboard demonstrations, competitions for snow figures and horseback riding are some of the events to mark the opening.
Borokids child park and Boroland theme park will work free of charge for the opening.

Bulgaria’s Bansko opens officially winter season 2009/2010
Olympic and world ski champions attended the official opening of winter season 2009/2010 in Bulgaria’s Bansko resort. They took part in demonstrations on the ski run and in a slalom competition.
Snow, music, dances and warm drinks welcomed tourist who came to witness the opening ceremony.

International tourists visiting Bulgaria generate two billion euro revenue
Bulgaria’s revenue from international tourist visits reached 2.27 billion euro from January to October 2009, Ministry of Economy, Energy and tourism announced.
The figure is 1.3 percent higher than revenue for the same period of 2008.
Foreign tourist visits to Bulgaria during the 10 months of 2009 decreased 0.2 percent. Bulgarian travels to foreign countries decreased 11.2 percent.

Aina Calvo, the mayor of Palma de Mallorca will visit Bulgaria’s Sandanski to mark the fraternization of the two municipalities, Standart daily reported.

British own 4000 apartments in Bulgaria’s Bansko
British are the owners of 4000 apartments in the Bulgarian ski resort of Bansko, the resort’s mayor Alexander Kravarov told Strouma daily.
About 600 of these apartments are used by tour operators and offer accommodation.

Prices in Bulgaria’s winter resorts 40 percent lower than those in French Alps
Tourists searching for inexpensive ski vacations can save up to 40 percent if they travel to Bulgaria instead of to the French Alps, British insurance company InsureandGo survey states as quoted by www.news.directline-holidays.co.uk.

Ski legends open winter season in Bulgaria’s Bansko winter resort
Olympic and world ski champions will be guests of the official opening of the winter season in Bulgaria’s Bansko resort. The ceremony will take place on December 12, Troud daily reported.
